Through surf therapy, waterfall hikes, cacao ceremonies, Thai massage courses, and yoga, you’ll rediscover your intuition, strength, and community. Just as the tides rise and fall, this retreat honors the beauty in every phase of motherhood—inviting you to surrender, renew, and ride the waves with grace and support.

Meet your Hosts
PJ Brown LPCC
PJ is a trauma-informed therapist who focuses on somatic arts therapy, surf therapy, and EMDR. She discovered surfing later in life and has cultivated a deep connection to the ocean and rivers. As a mother who has personally navigated and overcome postpartum depression, she is passionate about supporting other mothers through the emotional waves of postpartum life and believes that mothers cannot mother alone. She has co-facilitated the MotherWell Therapy Series, a space for exploring modern motherhood and helping mothers find renewed meaning and wellness in their parenting journey. With a background in surf therapy through the Groundswell Community Project, PJ has guided women from all walks of life in healing through movement, water, and community. She is most inspired by connecting with others as they navigate the waves of emotions in life and in the water, offering a safe and supportive space for healing.
Natalie Small LMFT
Natalie is the founder and creator of Groundswell Surf Therapy TM research based and trauma informed surf therapy model. She specializes in somatic, art, and eco therapies and believes deeply that when we can heal out trauma through connection to self, community and the earth not only does the individual experience healing and transformation, but so does her family and the earth. Her work with moms to be and postpartum moms in the sea over the last 10 years sparked lead her to pursue training and Doula certification with DONA and Innate Traditions Postpartum Doula care. She found her personal healing and recovery to self through surfing, sailing, swimming and sharing time of sisterhood in the sea and has a deep love for sharing these modalities to support other women and their communities to reclaim their healing, identity and belonging in the sea as well. She'll be joining us as she enters into this new journey of motherhood as a postpartum mama of as well and is honored to be in circle with you.
